it is easy to say that i've always loved art of any kind. over the last year i have fallen in love with capturing moments on film. my joy comes from capturing those moments that speak to people.
the moments that tell a story. stories of families, weddings, engagements, your first child, your kids...
if you're wondering why i named my photography one26, it's a good question.
in august of this past year i went to Guatemala and worked with an orphanage for a week. just one week. it was incredible and it changed my life. the whole point on the trip was to go and show love to these kids. so for a week i poured myself out to the kids in Guatemala. what i began to see in the eyes of these children was the love of Christ. i saw His Grace, His Peace, His Joy, His Sorrow, His Hope and His Love.
it was then that i knew that if anything would come of my photography i wanted to show the world Christ through other people, through the world, through the pictures of urban landscapes to the most brilliant sunsets.
one26 is a reference to Genesis 1:26 in which scripture tells us that people are created in the image of God. for me one26 is a reminder that we are the image of God to the world and to each other.
this is what i want people to see in my photos --- Jesus in the eyes of children, through the smiles of a family, through laughter of an orphan in guatemala, in people i've stopped to talk with in my travels, and in the urban and rural landscapes of this beautiful world.
one26 is a reminder that God doesn't simply dwell in one place... He is found in all of us. He is found everywhere.
one26 is a reminder that we are the living, breathing representation of Christ to the world. this is what i want to show the world through my pictures - Jesus Christ.
stay up to date with the one26 because in January something new will arrive...
